Build Bos Sires in Your Country

Become a Bos Sires Representative

Bos Sires is building an international network of cattlemen who believe the future of the cattle industry depends on functional, fertile, adaptable genetics and the people who have spent generations developing them.

Our representatives are not traditional semen salespeople. They are cattlemen and industry leaders who help build Bos Sires within their country by identifying like-minded breeders, developing markets for functional genetics, establishing local distribution, and connecting their country's cattle industry to the larger Bos Sires network.

The goal is not simply to sell semen into a country. It is to create a permanent network that allows good genetics, breeders, knowledge, and opportunities to move both into and out of that country.

What Does a Bos Sires Representative Do?

A Bos Sires Representative serves as the primary connection between Bos Sires and the cattle industry within their territory.

Representatives are responsible for:

Identifying and recruiting breeders whose cattle and philosophies align with Bos Sires

Helping those breeders gain exposure domestically and internationally

Developing relationships with commercial cattlemen, seedstock producers, veterinarians, AI technicians, agricultural organizations, universities, and government agricultural departments

Promoting Bos Sires genetics and educational resources within their country

Helping customers identify genetics appropriate for their production environment and breeding objectives

Facilitating semen and live-animal sales

Helping establish and maintain a reliable distribution point for Bos Sires genetics within the country

Working with the broader Bos Sires network to create opportunities for genetics to move between countries

This is intended to be an active role. We are looking for people who want to develop something within their country, not simply carry the title of Bos Sires Representative.

You Are Building a Network, Not Just Selling a Product

Traditional genetics companies generally operate from the top down. A company selects genetics, hires salespeople or distributors, and attempts to sell those genetics into as many markets as possible.

Bos Sires is structured differently.

We are building a network from the ground up in each country.

A representative can help identify exceptional breeders within their own country and bring those breeders into Bos Sires. Those genetics can then become available to representatives and customers throughout the rest of the Bos Sires network.

At the same time, the representative gains access to breeders and genetics from other countries that may benefit cattlemen at home.

This creates a two-way system.

Instead of one company simply exporting genetics around the world, cattlemen in different countries become connected through a common international network.

Establishing Distribution

Every country represented by Bos Sires must have an established distribution point for Bos Sires genetics.

The Representative has two options.

Become the Distributor

The Representative may choose to handle domestic distribution themselves.

In this situation, the Representative earns both the applicable Representative commission and Distributor commission on qualifying sales.

Appoint a Distributor

The Representative may instead partner with an existing semen distributor, AI company, veterinarian, livestock business, or other qualified organization within the country.

The Representative continues to earn the applicable Representative commission while the appointed distributor receives the Distributor commission.

This allows representatives to choose the structure that makes the most sense for their country rather than forcing every market into the same distribution model.

How Representatives Earn Income

Bos Sires Representatives participate financially in the network they help develop.

There are several potential sources of income.

Domestic Semen Sales

For a domestic semen sale handled through Bos Sires, the breeder receives 70% of the listed retail price. Bos Sires HQ receives 5%, the Country Representative receives 2.5%, and up to 22.5% goes to the Domestic Distributor.

If the Representative also serves as the Distributor, the Representative can receive both the 2.5% Representative portion and the applicable Distributor portion. Volume discounts come out of the Distributor portion and do not reduce the breeder's 70%.

International Semen Sales

For every international straw sold, the breeder receives $20, Bos Sires HQ receives $3, the Representative in the genetics' country of origin receives $1, and the Representative in the buyer's destination country receives $1.

The destination Distributor receives $13 per straw on orders of 1–49, $8 per straw on orders of 50–99, and $5 per straw on orders of 100 or more. This creates semen prices of $38, $33, and $30 per straw before shipping, export, and import costs.

A Representative can earn as the origin-country Representative when genetics from their country are exported, as the destination-country Representative when genetics are imported into their country, and—if they also handle distribution—the applicable Distributor amount.

Live-Animal Sales

On a domestic live-animal sale brokered through the Bos Sires network, a 10% total commission applies. The Country Representative receives 1%. If the Representative is also the Distributor, they can also receive the applicable Distributor portion.

On an international live-animal sale, a 20% total commission applies. The Representative in the animal's country of origin receives 2%, and the Representative in the destination country receives 2%. International transportation and other logistics costs are separate.

Genetics Sold Into Your Country

When Bos Sires genetics are sold into your country, the country Representative participates in the sale.

If you also serve as the Distributor, you can receive both the Representative and Distributor portions of qualifying sales.

Genetics From Your Country Sold Internationally

The opportunity also works in the opposite direction.

When you recruit qualified breeders within your country and their genetics are marketed through Bos Sires internationally, the Representative in the country of origin participates in those sales.

This means your opportunity is not limited by the size of your domestic semen market.

You are helping develop genetics and breeders that can potentially be marketed throughout the entire Bos Sires network.

Live-Animal Sales

The Bos Sires model extends beyond semen.

Representatives can also participate in qualifying domestic and international live-animal sales facilitated through the Bos Sires network.

Building the Breeder Network

Representatives are also responsible for identifying breeders who fit the Bos Sires philosophy and helping bring them into the network.

A portion of breeder membership revenue remains within the Representative's country and is designated for local promotional activities such as advertising, events, booths, field days, and other efforts designed to grow Bos Sires within that market.

The remaining portion supports Bos Sires HQ's global marketing, breeder exposure, and international market development.

The result is a system where growing the breeder network also creates resources to continue developing the local market.

How the Network Works

The basic model is simple:

Find good breeders → Connect them to Bos Sires → Develop markets for their genetics → Establish local distribution → Connect customers with genetics from around the world → Share the revenue among the people who helped make the transaction possible.

A breeder in your country can gain access to customers they could never realistically reach alone.

A commercial cattleman in your country can gain access to functional genetics developed thousands of miles away.

A representative in another country can introduce one of your breeders to an entirely new market.

Bos Sires HQ provides the infrastructure, international network, marketing, breeder relationships, educational resources, and coordination that connect those pieces.

Everyone has a reason to help everyone else succeed.

Your Country Is Not Locked Into One Person

Bos Sires Representative agreements are non-exclusive.

Representatives are also free to participate in other livestock genetics businesses outside Bos Sires.

However, we believe the people who build a market should have a voice in how that market develops.

If an additional Bos Sires Representative is proposed in a country that already has representation, the existing Representative or Representatives must approve the addition.

When multiple Representatives operate within the same country, Representative commissions are divided between them unless another arrangement is agreed upon.

Our goal is to build strong teams within countries, not create competing Bos Sires networks working against one another.

Who Are We Looking For?

You do not have to own a semen company or be a professional genetics salesperson.

In many cases, we would rather work with a respected cattleman who understands his country's production environment and shares our philosophy than someone whose only experience is selling semen.

The ideal Bos Sires Representative:

Understands cattle production in their country

Has relationships within the cattle industry

Believes fertility, adaptability, longevity, and functionality should come before trends

Is comfortable developing relationships with breeders and commercial cattlemen

Wants to help identify exceptional cattle and breeders within their own country

Is willing to actively promote Bos Sires and help facilitate sales

Can either establish a distribution point or develop a relationship with an appropriate domestic distributor

Wants to be part of an international network rather than operate as an isolated salesperson

Most importantly, we want people who believe there are good cattle and good cattlemen all over the world, and that connecting those people creates opportunities that none of us could build independently.

What Bos Sires Provides

Representatives are not expected to build everything alone.

Bos Sires HQ supports the network through:

International marketing

Breeder promotion

Website and digital infrastructure

Educational content

The Sustainable Stock podcast and other media

Access to the Bos Sires breeder network

Connections with Representatives in other countries

Assistance developing international markets

Coordination of genetics moving between countries

Sales and promotional resources

Support for local events and marketing initiatives

As the international network grows, every Representative gains access to more breeders, more genetics, more markets, and more industry relationships.

Why Bos Sires?

The cattle industry does not need another company trying to sell the same genetics around the world.

There are exceptional cattlemen in nearly every country, but most operate within isolated networks. They may have genetics that could dramatically benefit producers somewhere else in the world, yet have no realistic way of finding those customers.

At the same time, commercial producers are often introduced only to the genetics that the largest companies have the resources to market to them.

Bos Sires was built to change that.

We want to identify cattle that work, find the breeders responsible for producing them, and build an international network capable of getting those genetics into the hands of producers who need them.

A Bos Sires Representative is the person who helps make that possible within their country.
